The "G1" Google Phone goes to T-Mobile First

The New York Times stated earlier today that T-Mobile will be the first to market with a Google Phone (an Android Powered Cell Phone). Some sites are saying September 17th while the New York Times would only commit to "as early as October". It appears that the phone is indeed the HTC "Dream" as we have previously reported. Everythingdream.com posted the video below on YouTube.

While Openlygeek.com does not sell cell phones we do get pretty excited around a Free Cell Phone Operating System provided by Google, especially given the bad press that Apple has been receiving on their new iPhones.

The Perseids Peak Early Tomorrow

The Perseid Meteor Shower should be most visible after 2 a.m. on August 12th 2008.

While the Perseids receive a great deal of media coverage there are plenty of meteor showers that us geeks keep tabs on. Here's a Meteor Calendar to help keep track.

Happy star gazing friends. We just might be a little late for work tomorrow.

The Joker is a Major Hit

Many, many buyers have been disappointed recently to find that this Joker Statue is now out of stock and becoming hard to find.

As predicted the Pre-Orders went fast and the few we had left over were quickly swiped up. Many buyers have been forced to auction sites where prices have gone as high as $202.50.

Despite Batman's Voice, the movie has been a huge success. (Don't they know that his voice is disguised both to hide his identity, and to mess with his enemies psychologically?) Due to this success we suspect the same results for the Kotobukiya Batman Statue. In fact some of us here at Openlygeek.com think that it may be worse given that a) it's The Dark Knight himself, and b) the cult following enjoyed by Kotobukiya collectibles is substantial; just ask any Star Wars Collector.

Plus, we think it also looks pretty sweet. Only time will tell, but at least we know that we warned everyone.
